Leadership

Senior Managing Director
Eric Michael Anton
Mr. Anton is a Senior Managing Director and Director of the firm’s Global Capital Group. He is located in Marcus & Millichap’s New York office, the firm’s largest. With more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate, his group is focused on investment sales and equity placement transactions in the New York metropolitan area. Additionally, Mr. Anton is Director of the Global Capital Group at Marcus & Millichap. In this role, he is responsible for identifying new sources of inbound capital to the U.S. from across the world. Mr. Anton has spent many years traveling to meet investors in Beijing, Shanghai, Tokyo, Cannes, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Germany, Canada, and Korea.
Since joining Marcus & Millichap in 2017, Mr. Anton has completed several signature deals, including the recapitalization of 520 Fifth Avenue, a $650 million development site in the heard of the Grand Central submarket, the net lease of the Times Square Theater, a $100 million project on West 42nd Street, and the NNN ground lease of the IAC world headquarters.
Throughout the course of his career, he has successfully completed more than $23 billion in commercial real estate transactions, including office, multifamily, hotel, and development site transactions. In addition, his group is active in the structuring and placement of debt, mezzanine, and equity capital for a broad range of commercial real estate assets. Mr. Anton has successfully closed more than $3 billion of debt, mezzanine, and equity financing.
In 2022, Mr. Anton and his partner, Nelson Lee, were the recipients of two prestigious awards for their sale of the Martinique Hotel, which included the restructuring of the underlying ground lease and the leasing of the vacant retail space. The awards were “The CoStar Impact Best Sale” and first place “Henry Hart Rice Achievement Most Ingenious Deal of the Year” award issued by the Real Estate Board of New York (“REBNY”).
Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Anton was Senior Managing Director at HFF’s New York office, where he completed many signature Manhattan deals, including the $330 million sale of 1407 Broadway and the acquisition financing for 645 Madison Avenue. Prior to that, he was Managing Partner at Brookfield Financial, wholly owned by Brookfield Asset Management. Mr. Anton began his career with Lendlease, an Australian-based construction management firm.
Mr. Anton is a director for the Real Estate Board of New York’s commercial division, a member of the Board of Associates for the Ronald McDonalds house of New York, and the National New Leadership Board of Israel Bonds. He is also an active supporter of Asphalt Green, a non-profit that provides high-quality sports, swim and fitness instruction, and programs to New York City children and adults.
Mr. Anton earned a Master of Science in Real Estate Finance and Development from Columbia University after graduating with a dual degree in European History and Political Science from Brown University. He resides in New York City with his wife, Christina, two children, and dogs Charlie & Sharpie.

First Vice President
Nelson Lee
Nelson Lee is a commercial real estate broker and Director of Marcus & Millichap’s Global Capital Group, based in the firm’s Manhattan office. With over 24 years of experience, he specializes in investment sales and capital advisory, with a distinct focus on Pan-Asian family offices and institutional investors targeting U.S. real estate opportunities.
Throughout his career, Mr. Lee has successfully closed over $2.5 billion in transactions. Notable deals since joining Marcus & Millichap in 2017 include the $650 million recapitalization of 520 Fifth Avenue; the $201 million all-cash acquisition of the fee position for 645 Madison Avenue from a foreign buyer; and the sale, lease, and financing of the Martinique Hotel, which earned the 2022 REBNY Henry Hart Rice Award for “Most Ingenious Deal of the Year.”
Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Lee founded NCL Capital, where he led strategic investment initiatives and cross-border capital placements. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Mr. Lee resides in Watchung, New Jersey, with his wife and three sons. Outside of work, he enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.

Associate Director Investments
Adam Steiner
Adam Steiner is a driven and accomplished real estate professional who recently joined The Anton Group, a team of top-performing individuals dedicated to delivering exceptional service and results. With a primary focus on investment sales and structuring joint ventures, Adam specializes in the five major asset classes of New York City: Multifamily, Office, Retail, Development, and Hospitality. In his brief time with The Anton Group, Adam has made a significant impact by analyzing and advising clients on potential New York City real estate transactions collectively valued at over $1 billion. His diverse clientele includes global institutions, family offices, and lenders, showcasing his ability to cater to the unique needs and objectives of a wide range of clients.
Adam began his career as a fellow in the prestigious William A. Millichap Fellowship program after graduating from Pennsylvania State University. He was then quickly promoted from corporate fellow to associate with Marcus & Millichap.
Mr. Steiner always strives to act in the best interest of his clients and is committed to providing them with the highest level of service and expert guidance. He is licensed to sell real estate in both New York and New Jersey and specializes in investment sales in Manhattan. His extensive knowledge of the market allows him to provide his clients with a diverse range of opportunities to achieve their real estate goals.
Growing up right outside of New York City in Northern New Jersey, Mr. Steiner has a deep understanding of the area and a unique perspective on the real estate market.
In his free time, Adam enjoys playing golf and hockey, as well as following European soccer.

Henri Kessler
Henri Kessler is a Senior Associate at Marcus & Millichap’s Global Capital Group and a member of The Anton Group. He is responsible for identifying new sources of inbound capital to the US from around the world thus establishing relationships with Pan-Asian and European Family Offices, International Investors, Global Brands, Developers, and Institutional clients providing services ranging from owner representation to advisory services, investment sales, and 1031 exchanges.
In 2017 Kessler joined Marcus & Millichap after brokering the sale of the AMC Village 7 Theater located in Manhattan for $32,250,000. Subsequently, he has traded over $100 million in CRE transactions, including the sale of the Gosman’s Portfolio in Montauk, NY for $34 million. Additionally, representing developers and owners of alternative industrial entertainment and production facilities nationally, aka film & TV soundstages.
Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap Kessler was a Partner at The Robert Evans Company, located on the Paramount Pictures Studio lot in Hollywood. During the 11 years there, Kessler developed feature films & television series for The Robert Evans Company and then created a working relationship with the EVP of Licensing at Viacom, and founded Woodland Hotel & Resort Group, LLC which started identifying real estate opportunities for Paramount Pictures inspired Boutique Hotels globally.
In 1996 Kessler was Founder and CEO of Offline Entertainment Group where Kessler produced and/or developed over 25 titles that received the Sundance Grand Jury Prize, Cannes Camera d’Or, IFP Gotham Award, a nomination for an IFP Independent Spirit Award and a nomination for a Best Foreign Film Academy Award. During this time Kessler has spent many years traveling to film festivals and international markets in Cannes, Hong Kong, London, Singapore, Berlin, Toronto, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Havana, and Rio.

Agent Candidate
Max von Graffenried
Max von Graffenried joined The Anton Group in 2026 as a Capital Markets Advisor specializing in commercial assets throughout Manhattan. He advises property owners, private investors, family offices, and international capital groups on the acquisition and disposition of multifamily, office, retail, mixed-use, and development properties.
Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Max dealt in New York’s contemporary art market, where he worked in operations for a boutique gallery and advised international collectors, high-net-worth individuals, and institutional clients on acquisitions of investment-grade artwork. In this role, he conducted valuation and market analysis, facilitated transactions, and developed relationships with investors across North America, Europe, and Latin America. He also represented the gallery at major international art fairs, including Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Basel Switzerland.
His background working with sophisticated investors and cross-border transactions provides a unique perspective on capital flows, asset valuation, and investment strategy. Leveraging these relationships and analytical experience, Max works closely with clients to identify opportunities, maximize asset value, and execute transactions throughout Manhattan’s commercial real estate market.

Investment Sales Associate
Phillip Gallagher
Philip Gallagher is an Investment Sales Associate with the Anton Group at Marcus & Millichap’s New York office, where he focuses on investment sales and advisory across Manhattan. Philip plays an active role in underwriting, market analysis, deal sourcing, and client advisory, helping owners and investors evaluate opportunities, position assets, and execute transactions. Working alongside Senior Partners Eric Anton and Nelson Lee, Philip is involved in transactions spanning multiple asset classes, including multifamily, office, retail, and development opportunities.
Prior to joining Marcus & Millichap, Philip worked at CF Private Equity and Cirrus Workforce Housing, where he developed experience in financial analysis, market research, and client-facing roles, building a foundation in both quantitative evaluation and relationship management.
Philip graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Santa Clara University in 2025 and is licensed to sell real estate in New York. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, golfing, sailing, and spending time with family and friends.

Investment Sales Associate
Justice Carrenard
Justice Carrenard joined Marcus & Millichap with a multidisciplinary background in psychology, communications, and leadership, bringing a highly analytical and client-focused perspective to New York City investment sales. He is particularly interested in complex assets and redevelopment-oriented opportunities where strategy, positioning, and decision-making intersect.
A graduate of Wesleyan University, Justice earned a B.A. in Psychology and Film Studies and held leadership-focused roles throughout his time on campus. He served as a National Education Equity Course Fellow in Psychology, leading seminar-style discussions and mentoring students in analytical thinking and communication. In parallel, he developed experience in digital communications and marketing, working with both institutional and private organizations to shape content strategy, manage social platforms, and analyze performance metrics.
Outside of his professional work, Justice is a competitive mixed martial artist training at the Renzo Gracie Academy, one of the most respected combat sports academies globally. His training reinforces discipline, resilience, and composure under pressure, qualities that directly shape his approach to advising clients and operating in competitive, high-stakes environments.

Christopher Murphy
Chris Murphy is an Investment Sales Associate with the Anton Group at Marcus & Millichap’s New York office, specializing in investment sales and advisory across Manhattan. Working closely with Senior Managing Director Eric Anton and Nelson Lee, he is involved in transactions across the five major NYC asset classes: multifamily, office, retail, hospitality, and development sites. Chris takes a hands-on approach at every stage of a transaction, from underwriting and buyer outreach through execution and closing.
What drives Chris is the relationship side of the business as much as the analytical side. Whether he’s working with an institutional investor, a family office, or a private buyer, his approach is the same: stay curious, know the market cold, and make the process as straightforward as possible for the client.
A 2026 graduate of Wake Forest University, Chris is licensed to sell real estate in New York. Outside of work, he’s passionate about sports and music, and enjoys staying active through running and skiing. He also has a deep appreciation for food and travel, and values time spent with family and friends.

Financial Analyst
Alex Torelli
Alex supports The Anton Group’s capital markets practice with a focus on AI-driven sourcing initiatives and process improvement, working to identify and qualify investment opportunities more efficiently across multifamily, office, hotel, retail, and development sites. Alongside this, he spends the majority of his time on financial underwriting and broker opinion of value (BOV) development, building out the analytical rigor that supports the team’s ability to represent landlords and connect clients with capital both locally and globally.
Alex brings seven years of experience in corporate finance and strategy, most recently as a Consultant in Strategy and Transactions at EY-Parthenon, where he worked on large-scale transaction execution and financial analysis for institutional clients. He holds an MBA from the Yale School of Management and has a background spanning education finance and public-sector strategy, including roles in financial planning and investment analysis. Outside of work, Alex enjoys competitive handcycling, cooking, and collecting vinyl records. Alex lives in Greenwich, Connecticut.
